The pinewood derby is a racing event for Cub Scouts in Pack 382. Cub Scouts, with the help of parents, build their own cars from wood, from kits containing a block of pine, plastic wheels, and metal axles.

All teams race against the clock.

KLONDIKE
Many years ago, men raced across the Alaskan frozen wilderness by means of dogs and sleds. Scouting has taken this idea and created the Klondike Derby. Each patrol builds a sled, collects materials and equipment, and prepares to embark on the Klondike adventure and participate as a team in the derby. The Klondike will be a full day competition of stations, which will rely on patrol method and scouting skills. The top patrol will be awarded the Golden Nugget for a year, which is the annual trophy that passes from annual Klondike winner to winner.

CAMPING
There is no better way to retain scouts than to offer them exciting and adventurous Cub Scout Outdoor Programs. Pack 382 and their families camps 1-2 per year, while Troop 382 camps monthly. Del-Mar-Va Council has great facilities where Scouts make nature their classroom! During the summer, our council offers fantastic programs at Scout Summer Camp at Henson Scout Reservation and Cub Scout Day Camp at several locations spread across the peninsula. At camp, Scouts will learn, play, advance and enjoy experiencing the out-of-doors.
